The Dutch Open Darts 2012 will be played under the conditions of the General Game Rules of the Dutch Darts  Association (NDB). These rules can be found on our website www.ndbdarts.nl by clicking on ‘Reglementen’ (only available in Dutch). Below you’ll find some supplements/specific rules concerning this event:

• The Dutch Open is a WDF listed event. Registration is open to all players who are eligible to play in the Winmau World Masters and Lakeside Professional Championships (entry in the pairs tournaments is open to everyone); players should have reached the age of 16 at the time of the event. Youth players who are 16 years or older and enter the Dutch Open 2012 can NOT compete in the Dutch Open Youth 2012;
• The championship is supervised by the NDB and decisions and interpretations of the rules are binding (according to the rules of the NDB);
• The organization has the right to change the time-schedule;
• The championship is played in the knock-out format;
• Before the game starts, every player is allowed to throw nine practice darts on the lane where he or she has to play;
• All questions concerning score checks have to be asked before the player throws again;
• Players are expected to dress representative. Concerning stage games this means a decent pair of trousers (no jeans or denim type trousers) and a collared shirt;
• In the whole playing area, drinking alcohol and/or smoking is forbidden for both players and members of the tournament committee. Players and members of the tournament committee who ignore these rules receive a warning; the second warning means that the player will be taken out of the tournament immediately;
• When a player doesn’t show up at the prize ceremony, he or she loses the right to receive a trophy and/or prize-money;
• Dope will not be tolerated. During the event, players can be checked on the use of dope. Again, when it turns out the player has used dope, he or she will be taken out of the tournament immediately;
• You are NOT to be called out, on the players card you’ll find the time-schedule and on which lanes you have to play. You have to report at the lane official ten minutes before each game. If you don’t report in time, you’ll lose the game in a regulatory way;
• The toss takes place on the lane itself. The official will throw a dime; the player first mentioned on the game sheet may choose head or tails. The winner of the toss will start every odd numbered leg. These scores have to be written down on the left side of the writing board. When a floor match ends in a draw, the player who will start the last and decisive leg is defined by throwing for the Bull;
• The winner of the game has to return the game sheet to the official nearby the lane;
• Everybody is obliged to stick to the rules and follow the directions from members of the tournament committee. Players who don’t follow the rules will be disqualified;
• Entered players are commited to the promotion- and sponsorpolicy of the NDB;
• In cases in which these rules can’t be applied, the tournament committee will decide.
